Waters Corporation has appointed Jonathan Pratt as a senior vice president and president of TA Instruments, effective 3 September 2019. TA Instruments designs, manufactures and supports premier thermal analysis, rheology, microcalorimetry and mechanical testing technologies for the material and life science industries.

“Jon is a fantastic addition to the Waters executive leadership team as the president of TA Instruments,” said Christopher O'Connell, Waters Corporation Chairman and CEO. “In addition to his strong track record delivering growth in his leadership positions at Beckman Coulter Life Sciences and Pall Corporation, Jon brings to Waters a proven ability to create value through operational improvement and M&A. Furthermore, Jon will be a great cultural fit with our talented and accomplished TA Instruments team and the broader Waters organization.”

“I am thrilled to join Waters and TA Instruments,” said Pratt. “The organization has a tremendous track record of innovation, deep customer relationships and has built a very strong leadership team. The opportunity for analysis technologies is enormous. I look forward to working with the team to expand our leadership position, enabling our customers to succeed through continued innovation and world-class service.”

Prior to joining Waters, Pratt was president of Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, where he spearheaded efforts that drove improved operating profit and revenue growth both organically and through acquisitions. Additionally, he held senior positions at Pall Corporation, where he was president of its Food & Beverage, Laboratory and ForteBio businesses.

Pratt holds a BSc in chemistry from the University of Reading, UK, and an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
