An automated robotic platform has been developed for both the reduced and nonreduced CE-SDS assays to improve capacity and streamline sample preparation.

A model based on the volume averaging method has been applied to find the column cross-sectional shape in micro-GC that results in larger plate number per meter than other shapes with the same cross-sectional area and the same flow resistance coefficient.

A new HPLC system with five parallel columns and fraction collection was integrated to UV and mass spectrometric detectors for the discovery of bioactive compounds, exemplified by case studies on herbal extracts and a marine sponge.

Advances in Quantitative Proteomics: Parallel Reaction Monitoring Applied to Large-scale Studies

Date: Jun 26, 2013 - 13:00

Quantitative proteomics studies are challenging as high sensitivity and a high degree of selectivity are required to analyze systematically large peptide sets in one single experiment. Quantification of peptides in complex samples can be performed on a quadrupole-orbitrap instrument in MS/MS mode (parallel reaction monitoring, PRM). The high resolving power of this technique dramatically increases the selectivity of the measurements while the trapping capability can be leveraged to boost the sensitivity.
