Phenomenex has raised $19,450 for the American Red Cross in a charity soccer match between the company and the charity, after Phenomenex pledged to donate $1000 for each goal scored.

This was the second annual Soccer Charity Cup between the two organizations, as Phenomenex CEO Fasha Mahjoor is also a board member of the American Red Cross. Phenomenenx ended up winning 5-1, while four more goals were scored during a half-time penalty shoot-out with Mahjoor and Jarrett Barrios, CEO of the Los Angeles region of the America Red Cross, in goal. This meant that Phenomenex donated $10,000, while ten other American Red Cross board members donated another $9450.

'Spectacular sportsmanship and encouragement from our fans led to a brilliant win for our Phenoms,' said Mahjoor. 'However, the true champions are the American Red Cross and the ultimate beneficiaries – the lives they are helping to save every day.'
