Proteome analysis of brown stains on archived personal items of Anton Checkov has yielded proteins related to Mycobacterium tuberculosis, confirming that he had tuberculosis at time of death, but another protein suggests that there may have been a different cause of death.

A simple 'one‐pot' method for the proteome analysis of bacterial spores has been demonstrated for Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus cereus and Peptoclostridium difficile, yielding to the identification of >1000 across all spore layers of the three organisms.

Nasal protein profiling has been used to measure the responses of people exposed to airborne allergens like isocyanates and welding fumes, leading to several candidate biomarkers for work-related asthma.
