Abstract:

The addition of mass spectrometry capabilities to traditional chromatography data software allows the use of this powerful technique in the chromatography laboratory. Significant advances in software usability now allow the novice user to achieve high quality LC/MS or LC/MS/MS results. Data processing utilizes the identical processing tools currently employed for photodiode array based UV data, making the learning curve much easier and allowing the chemist to get valuable MS data from the same injection. A system check verifies the performance of the complete LC/MS system before committing precious samples to the analysis. This is the first time that a tandem mass spectrometer can be run in a true network environment allowing data to be viewed from any client on the network in a secure regulated environment.
