Dotmatics, a British provider of scientific informatics solutions and services, has appointed Rob Brown to its newly-created position of vice president of global informatics. Brown joins Dotmatics from BIOVIA, where he played a key role in the development of BIOVIA's life sciences informatics plans, including cloud and mobile strategies.

'I am impressed by Dotmatics’ flexible and modern platform as well as the company culture and am excited to be part of the world class team,' said Brown. 'There is great change within scientific research practises and the innovations that Dotmatics are bringing to the market will help scientists undergo such technological change and progression both efficiently and securely.'

Dotmatics provides a range of scientific informatics solutions, including electronic laboratory notebooks, data management tools and chemical drawing packages. Part of Brown's new role will be explaining Dotmatic's vision to the scientific community.
