The global gas chromatography market will grow to be worth $3.6 billion by 2019, up from almost $2.6 billion in 2014, predicts a new report from MarketsandMarkets.

As defined by the report, the gas chromatography market comprises systems, columns, detectors, accessories and reagents. North America currently holds the largest geographic share of the market, but Asia will experience the fastest growth over the next five years.

According to the report, global growth in the gas chromatography market is primarily being driven by the increased importance of chromatography tests in drug approvals. Other factors boosting growth include technological advancements, new product launches and a rise in the number of conferences related to chromatography, especially in Asian countries such as Singapore and Malaysia.
