Intertek, a UK testing and certification company, has entered into an agreement to provide analytical laboratory services to Norwegian oil company Statoil, as part of which Intertek will acquire Statoil's existing analytical laboratory.

This laboratory, which Intertek plans to expand, is based in Kalundborg, Denmark, a major hub for oil refining. So in addition to conducting oil analysis for Statoil at the laboratory, Intertek plans to provide a range of outsourced oil laboratory services to other companies, including analytical testing and consulting services on refining quality, fuel quality monitoring, industrial-process quality assurance and petroleum testing.

'We are honoured to partner with Statoil for this important laboratory services project to support the quality of their oil products and operations,' said Erik Landgren, country manager for Intertek Nordic & Baltic region. 'In addition, we look forward to expanding the laboratory and working with its team to increase the services we can provide together to the wider industry in Denmark and the surrounding region.'
