Agilent Technologies has combined its services and consumables businesses into a single division called Agilent CrossLab Group.

The new group will be headed by Mark Doak, who is currently senior vice president and general manager of the services and support division, which repairs and services Agilent's instruments and also offers laboratory productivity solutions. The consumables business, which sells chemical standards and reagents for analytical systems, will continue to be headed by Helen Stimson.

'By unifying our CrossLab Services and Consumables initiatives into this newly created business group, Mark and Helen will form an even more powerful partnership that will further help our customers optimize the economics and science of their laboratory operations,' said Mike McMullen, Agilent president and chief operating officer. In addition, Agilent has also announced that McMullen will succeed Bill Sullivan as Agilent's CEO on 18 March 2015, when Sullivan will become an advisor prior to retiring at the end of October 2015.
