Elsevier has launched a new open-access journal entitled Analytical Chemistry Research.

This new quarterly journal will publish papers on fundamental research into all aspects of analytical theory and methodology, including innovative instrumental, chemical and biological approaches, detectors and sensors, sample treatment methods, and data treatment. Alan Townshend, emeritus professor of chemistry at the University of Hull, UK, will be the journal's editor-in-chief.

'This new journal will be devoted to the publication of high quality research in analytical science and will especially be concerned with the analytical applications of novel technologies, and the evaluation of these applications,' explains Townshend.
