Held every three years on the occasion of the International Mass Spectrometry Conference, the 2009 Journal of Mass Spectrometry Awards were presented to five gifted young researchers at the 18th IMSC, held in Bremen, in September.

Vitaliy Chagovets, National Academy of Sciences, Ukraine

Each winner received an award of US$1200 for travel/attendance at the conference; a certificate; presented a 15 minute talk on their work; and will have a one year subscription to the Journal of Mass Spectrometry with an opportunity to publish their paper in the journal if they choose.
