Redefining ICP-MS Analysis;
Higher Matrix Levels, Simpler Operation;
Better Removal of Interferences:
The Extraordinary New 7700 Series ICP-MS
Something extraordinary is happening in ICP-MS

After 20 years, ICP-MS technology has reached a stage of development where improvements are incremental, rather than revolutionary. Nevertheless, there were aspects of existing instrumentation where performance could clearly be improved, such as increasing matrix tolerance, improving the removal of interferences, and simplifying routine operation. All of these areas have been the focus of research and development at Agilent Technologies, leading to the introduction of the 7700 Series, the most significant new ICP-MS product launch for many years.

This live online seminar will provide a comprehensive introduction to the very latest ICP-MS developments, as embodied in the 7700 Series ICP-MS; brand new technology which redefines the way routine and research labs do ICP-MS, introducing unparalleled performance, from the smallest commercial ICP-MS ever made.

ICP-MS 7700Modern quadrupole ICP-MS instruments have replaced traditional analytical techniques across most industries and applications, due to the unique combination of wide elemental coverage, low detection limits, fast multi-element analysis and large analytical dynamic range. However, the focus of recent instrument development has been on improving the matrix tolerance, interference removal and ease of use of the instrumentation, making it more widely applicable to high matrix and routine (high-throughput) applications.

These developments have led to the new 7700 Series, which introduces numerous hardware and software developments, including:

  1. Unique levels of matrix tolerance with an all-new frequency-matching RF generator and standard High Matrix Introduction (HMI) capability
  2. Unprecedented levels of collision cell performance in helium mode, from the redesigned 3rd generation octopole reaction system (ORS3)
  3. The development of Expert Auto Tuning and system setup tools that make consistent routine operation simple to achieve, even for non-expert users.

In the seminar we will present some of the new technology of the 7700, as well as introducing key performance highlights, especially related to the removal of spectral interferences in complex matrices.

Recent developments in USEPA methods relevant to the use of collision/reaction cell ICP-MS will also be discussed, as will some specific aspects of improving routine operation of ICP-MS.
